Arcadia’s Anderson named Coulee Player of the Year

Throughout the course of her high school career, Arcadia setter Adella Anderson had already cemented herself as a bedrock foundation to the Raider volleyball program and one of the area’s best players before her senior season even got underway. This final year took her to the very top of the elites in the Coulee Conference.

Anderson capped off her decorated Arcadia career by being named the Coulee Conference Player of the Year for the 2025 season. This came on the heels of her being named to the All-Coulee first team as a junior and to the second team as a sophomore.

Anderson dished out 719 assists this season to go along with 217 digs, 60 aces and 52 kills. During her senior season, she also joined Taylor Haines as the only Arcadia players to ever reach 2,000 assists in their careers.

Anderson was joined on the list of first-team selections by Luther seniors Kamryn Anderson and Kayla Schiebel, Luther junior Addie Schaper, Viroqua junior Megan Brendel, West Salem senior Josie Brudos and Westby senior Ava Berg.

Two of Anderson’s Raider teammates landed on the All-Coulee second team: senior Justine Sonsalla and junior Tatum Drazkowski. Last year, Drazkowski was also a second-team selection and Sonsalla was an all-conference honorable mention.

Drazkowski led the team with 286 kills while also recording 280 digs and 23 aces. Sonsalla was the team leader in digs (461) and aces (65) during her final fall as a Raider.

The rest of the All-Coulee second team featured Black River Falls sophomore Olivia Larkin, Luther junior Audrey Clark, Viroqua senior Emma Moilien, West Salem senior Natalle Reichert and West Salem freshman Kensley Skifton.

Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau sophomores Taryn Leighty and Amelia Walz were among the all-conference honorable mentions, joined by Luther sophomore Tessa Gloede, Viroqua seniors Emily Hubatch and Allie Olson, and Westby seniors Taylor Davidson, Emma Kirner and Maddie VonFeldt.

West Salem finished all alone atop the final Coulee standings with a 10-2 record in a highly competitive season for the conference, followed by Westby and Luther in a tie for second at 9-3, Viroqua in fourth at 8-4, Arcadia in fifth at 4-8 and both BRF and G-E-T in a tie for sixth at 1-11.
