Galesville city council to see change, could have opening

Two residents are running unopposed for seats on the Galesville city council in next Tuesday’s spring election, while another spot doesn’t have a candidate.

Incumbent Tom Thatcher is the lone resident running for the open seat in ward one.

Only one resident, Diane Redsten, submitted paperwork to fill the open seat in ward three, which is available since current council member Linda Skwierawski is not seeking re-election.

The council will have to fill a third opening, either by write-in votes or appointment, since nobody is running for election in the open ward one seat on the council. Tyler Truax has been in the seat but did not file for re-election.
