Wildcat softball overcomes Eleva-Strum in three innings
The bats came alive early and often for the Blair-Taylor High School softball team in a 19-2 win over Eleva-Strum last Monday as the Wildcats pushed their season-opening win streak to four.
Blair-Taylor was set to host Pepin/Alma on Tuesday before Augusta visits on Thursday.
Chloe Wagner batted a perfect four-for-four for the Wildcats, which opened Monday’s game with a trio of runs in the first inning. The hosts added six more in the second inning before allowing two in the top of the third inning.
The Wildcats exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the inning to end an offensive showing that saw Blair-Taylor finish with six extra base hits among 15 hits total and 16 RBI.
Junior Lindsay Steien finished three-for-four with four RBI and two doubles. Kierstyn Kindschy was two-for-four.
Abby Thompson threw two strikeouts to one walk from the mound, allowing a single hit. Both runs by Eleva-Strum were unearned.
