Wildcat softball makes quick work of two Dairyland foes

Twenty-nine runs across two games last week was plenty of offense for the Blair-Taylor High School softball team as they continued their undefeated season.
The Wildcats (6-0 this season) cruised by a pair of Dairyland Conference teams, beating Pepin/Alma handily on Tuesday before crushing Augusta in six innings on Thursday.
Blair-Taylor was set to host Greenwood on Monday before playing a trio of away games to close the week against Cochrane-Fountain City, Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran and Eleva-Strum.

Three innings was all it took for the Wildcats on Tuesday, as the hosts racked up 12 runs over the first two innings before adding four more in the third to beat their Dairyland Conference foe.
Abby Thompson allowed two hits in the game, striking out seven batters and walking one.
Eleven different Wildcats had a hit. Chloe Wagner and Lindsay Steien both went 2 for 3. Madalynn Frederixon recorded a double.
B-T 13 Augusta 2
The Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning–three of them on an inside the park home run from Lydia Frederixon–to take full control in a Dairyland Conference win at home on Thursday.
Five Wildcats registered at least two hits, paced by Steien and Frederixon with three apiece. Steien was 3 for 4 with a pair of runs, and Frederixon went 3 for 4 with a handful of RBI. Steien had a pair of triples.
Blair-Taylor scored four more runs in the third inning, adding one more in the fourth before tacking on four in the sixth to end the game. They finished with 14 hits in the game.
Thompson threw five strikeouts and one walk while allowing one hit through two innings after relieving Steien, who picked up the win behind five strikeouts, one walk and two hits.
