G-E-T girls fall to pair of strong area hoops teams

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau girls basketball team dropped a pair of games against two strong area programs last week.

Division One Holmen left with a win against G-E-T on Monday, and the top team in the Coulee Conference beat the Red Hawks on Thursday. Full individual statistics were not reported to the Times.

The Red Hawks (3-17 overall, 3-6 Coulee Conference) are scheduled to visit Arcadia (6-13, 4-4 Coulee) this Thursday.

Holmen 62 G-E-T 25

Holmen built on a 24-point halftime lead to cruise to victory on Monday.

Charley Casey led the Vikings (12-9, 6-4 Mississippi Valley Conference) with 15 points. Statistics for G-E-T were not reported.

West Salem 74 G-E-T 25

The No. 9 team in the wissports.net coaches poll backed up its ranking in a dominant home conference win over the Red Hawks.

Shayna Kirkey had a game-high 17 points for G-E-T, while West Salem (19-2, 9-0 Coulee) had three players in double-digit scoring.
