Trial dates for teacher accused of assault set
October trial dates have been set for a former Osseo teacher accused of felony second-degree sexual assault of a student.
The trial for Nicholas S. Bergeron, 31, of 413 Elm St, Strum, is scheduled for Oct. 25, 26 and 27. Bergeron pleaded not guilty to the sex assault charge in October, 2022.
Bergeron is accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old student, specifically touching her buttock Jan. 6, 2022. The student complained to Osseo school district administrators who then contacted police. School administrators had previously cautioned Bergeron against touching students, court documents say.
Bergeron is charged with incidents that allegedly occurred from September 2021 through Jan. 6, 2022. Besides the specific incident in 2022, the investigating officer found that “it was a common theme” of students being uncomfortable with Bergeron.
