Red Hawks take fourth, Raiders win two events at Holmen track invite

Both Trempealeau County teams competing in a Coulee Conference and Mississippi Valley Conference track and field invitational last Tuesday left with wins in multiple events.
The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau girls’ and boys‘ teams each saw wins to finish fourth at the event at Holmen High School.
West Salem took the top team score in the boys’ events with 102 points, just ahead of Central (101) and host Holmen (99). The Red Hawks were next with 68, just enough to edge fifth-place Tomah at 67.
The only teams to beat the G-E-T girls were the host Vikings (146) and a pair of Coulee Conference opponents in Westby (140) and West Salem (104).
Arcadia won two events as junior Landan Bremer won the 400-meter dash and junior Casidi Pehler won the pole vault.
The Raiders finished seventh (43) in the boys’ team competition and ninth (26.5) on the girls’ side.
Red Hawks spread scoring
The Red Hawks got a pair of event victories on Tuesday, both from distance runners.
Sam Ruiter won the 1600-meter run for the G-E-T boys, and Adrianna Rotering won the same event for the girls’ team.
The Red Hawks got a second place finish from its 800-meter relay team of Myrabelle Pretasky, Jordan Stanislowski, Madelyn Seymour and Alayna Stendahl, which was beaten only by Viroqua. Carter Repaal also earned second place with his shot put toss of just over 44 feet.
Others earning points for G-E-T included Kaylee Hauge in the open 400 and Xander Burmeister with a third place run in the mile. Ruiter also ran to third place in the 3200-meter race, and the G-E-T boys got a pair of third place finishes from the 800 and 1600-meter relay teams.
Bremer, Pehler lead Raiders
Both Bremer and Pehler each won events last Tuesday, and both added additional top placements in other events.
Bremer finished second in the 200, and Pehler placed third in the high jump.
Arcadia also saw a good day out of junior Joel Fernando, who ran to third place in the 400 and also placed fourth in the 200.
