Man arrested at Broiler Fest

A man who allegedly ran screaming through Eleva Broiler Fest grounds before damaging a squad car remains in Trempealeau County jail and faces two felonies and four misdemeanors.

Shawn Thomas Lauterbach, 30, of 26860 Fairgrounds Road, Webster, was arrested June 2 by Strum officers on assignment to Eleva after he is alleged to have run screaming through the fest grounds before climbing onto a concession stand.

As officers attempted to restrain him, he is charged with kicking an officer and then kicking and head butting the squad car, according to the criminal complaint. Court records say the squad car’s rear window was broken.

He is charged with felony battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property over $2,500. He is also charged with misdemeanor counts of bail jumping, resisting a police officer and disorderly conduct. All the charges allege he is a repeat offender.

He is being held in lieu of a $2,500 cash bond.
