Man is accused of driving into house
A man who was reportedly in a dispute with his mother over rent is alleged to have broken windows and driven a truck into the living room of a house in Trempealeau.
Village of Trempealeau police June 6 responded to a call of a man breaking windows and smoke coming from a house. Upon arrival, the criminal complaint says Tyler Paul Kotlarz, 38, of 11764 South St., put his hands up and laid on the ground.
After taking him into custody, officers found that a truck had been driven into an attached garage and then through patio doors into the kitchen, dining room and living room. Police did not find anyone else at the residence.
Kotlarz was charged with felony criminal damage to property over $2,500 and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was being held in jail Monday in lieu of $10,000 cash bond.
According to court records, he told officers he was in dispute with his mother over $1,000 in rent.
