Strum man charged with 5th, 6th DUI

Independence police arrested a Strum man who was charged with fifth or sixth driving under the influence after he was allegedly spotted driving his vehicle across the center lane.

Steven Mark Austin, 64, of W32164 Paulson Road., remained in Trempealeau County jail Monday in lieu of $2,500 cash bond. He was charged with felony fifth or sixth driving under the influence and felony bail jumping for violating the terms of previous court action.

Austin was arrested June 10. He previously had DUI convictions in 1991,1994, 2004 and 2007, according to court records.
