G-E-T sweeps BRF, splits with Central
Following a split with La Crosse Central early in the week — marking the team’s third straight doubleheader split — the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau American Legion softball team finally earned their first sweep of the summer with a pair of emphatic wins against Black River Falls.
G-E-T (5-5) looks to keep the ball rolling on the road against West Salem for a Wednesday doubleheader, then wraps up the regular season by hosting La Crosse Logan next Wednesday for a doubleheader starting at 5:30 p.m.

A tight game all the way through was appropriately decided in walk-off fashion in favor of Post 354.
After Central had tied things up at 3-3 in the top of the fifth, Tori Thoma hit a leadoff single in the bottom half of the inning and advanced to second on a groundout. Lorissa Thompson came through in the clutch with a walk-off single to end the game.
Thoma and Ruby Johnson each collected a pair of hits in the win.

La Crosse Central came back in a big way in the second game of a doubleheader last Wednesday in Ettrick, scoring 10 runs in the first inning to set the tone in the runaway win.
Alexys Robinson was responsible for G-E-T’s only hit in the loss.

Post 354 erupted for eight runs in the top of the second on their way to a comfortable win to start a doubleheader this past Thursday in Black River Falls.
Avery Scow went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs, Ruby Johnson finished 3 for 4 with a walk, an RBI and three runs scored, and Kennedy Scow was 2 for 3 with a home run and four RBIs.

Just like the first game, an early eight-run rally — this time in the bottom of the first — helped set the tone for G-E-T in a decisive victory over Black River Falls.
Four different players had two hits each for Post 354 in the win: Ruby Johnson, Kennedy Scow, Eden Linberg and Claire Baures. Scow doubled twice and drove in two runs while scoring thrice.
