For the second straight week, the Blair-Taylor football team found itself on the wrong end of a lopsided loss against one of the Dairyland Conference’s premier teams.

A week after a 52-14 loss against Pepin/Alma that was competitive early on, the Wildcats had no answer against Cochrane-Fountain City. The Pirates scored 20 points in each of the first two quarters and took a 40-0 lead into halftime. That’s when lightning started flashing around the area and the game was called.

C-FC ran for 276 yards in the game, led by Aidan Lisowski, who rushed for 173 and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Ethan Smith added 90 yards and another touchdown on two carries. Quarterback Parker Kujak also had a touchdown run and passed for another.

The Pirates intercepted B-T quarterback Kole Trapp five times in the game, two by Kujak. Ethan Holzer returned one interception 25 yards for a touchdown.

Trapp completed three of 10 passes for 28 yards. Two of the completions were to Payton Kelly for 19 yards. Collin Johnson had 11 carries for 18 yards.

The loss put B-T at 3-2 on the season and 1-2 in Dairyland Conference play. The team has a big game this week that could factor both in the conference standings and for playoff consideration as it heads to Eleva-Strum. The Cardinals are 4-1 on the season and 3-0 in DC action, coming off of a 47-0 win over Augusta.

Next week will be B-T’s Homecoming game as it hosts Independence/Gilmanton.
