Gloria A. Hanvold

Gloria Ann Hanvold, 86, of Pigeon Falls, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 15, 2026, with loved ones by her side.
She was born August 1, 1940, at Gillette Hospital in Mondovi, to Arnold and Adeline (Krenz) Olson. Growing up as one of seven siblings, Gloria carried a naturally gentle and selfless heart from a young age. Her home and her heart were always open and her life was defined by the boundless compassion she showed to everyone around her, regularly stepping in to look after neighbors, friends and her family with endless patience, warmth and care. She was a devoted mother to her three children; Cindy, Angie and Steve.
Gloria’s deep devotion to her family was shown in many ways, none more quiet and profound than in 1994, when she donated her kidney to her daughter, Angie. That precious gift granted them thirty more years of shared memories together.
Gloria is survived by her son, Steve (Kelly) Hanvold; her granddaughter, Ericka Anderson; her grandson, Nathan (Laura) Anderson; her great-grandsons: Jack and Luke Anderson; her brother, Maylin (Shirley) Olson; her sisters: Sandra Staats, Victoria (Roger) Krueger, Sharon Foss and Marlene (Jerry) Waldera.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, Cindy Jennings and Angie Anderson; her son-in-law, Eric Anderson; her husband, Kenneth; her brothers-in-law: Richard Staats, Victor Foss; her brother, Lamoine Olson; and her long-time companion, Gene Edmondson.
Gloria’s legacy of love, compassion and quiet strength will live on in all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Peace Lutheran of Pigeon Falls with burial in Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, both in Pigeon Falls. Pastor Gregory Ofsdahl will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
