Ardell J. (Peters) Tollefson
Ardell Jane (Peters) Tollefson was born June 3, 1935, in Little Falls, Monroe County, to Harrison and Violet “Clair” Peters. She attended school in Melrose, Hegg and Blair. She Later married Gaylord “Sam” Tollefson, March 1, 1952. He preceded Ardell in death in 1995.
Ardell worked as a waitress for five years; was employed at the Arrow Shopper; and 20 years at the auto factory in Galesville and Ettrick. She retired in 2000. Ardell lived most of her life in Hegg (Ettrick). She loved to cook, bake, and read.
Ardell had seven children: Vicky (Larry) Leque; Jennifer Ekern; Randall (Mary) Tollefson, Peggy (Todd) Austad Beaty; Terry (Charles) Kearns, Danny Tollefson and Robert D. Tollefson. Ardell has 10 grandchildren: Christopher (Katia) Leque; Candace (Jeff) Maas; Mark (Lisa) Nelson; Shawn (Amanda) Stenberg; Ethan Ekern; Jessica (Dane) Reddy; Travis (Leah) Austad; Samantha (Sheldon) Berg; Keith (So Si) Tollefson; Cassandra Tollefson; and 12 great-grandchildren. Ardell had four brothers and sisters; Janette Johnson, June Moen; Roger (Judy) Peters and Darwin (Marline) Peters.
Ardell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gaylord; infant son, Danny; two daughters: Vicky and Terry; sister and brother-in-law, June (Allen) Moen; a son-in-law, Wayne Austad; and a brother-in-law, Kenny Johnson.
A memorial service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at North Beaver Creek Faith Building. Rev. Adam Arends will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at North Beaver Creek First Lutheran Cemetery.
