Bruce R. Huseboe

Bruce Richard Huseboe, 67, of Taylor, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Mulder Health Care in West Salem, under the care of St. Croix Hospice.
Bruce was born December 28, 1956, along with his twin, Vaughn, to Richard and Clara (Carlson) Huseboe. He grew up in West Allis where he attended school, graduating from Nathan Hale High School. It was at Nathan Hale where Bruce was a wrestler and also in the band and ended up meeting Kathy Paige, whom he would later marry. Bruce and Kathy moved to Taylor where his family had a farm, and he would work for Whitehall Packing, AMPI, and Don Bush Trucking. Bruce and Kathy had four sons: Eric and Richard (twins), Ryan and Justin. Bruce experienced two major life-changing events in his life, the first being the loss of his infant son, Richard, the second being a motorcycle accident that would leave him paralyzed from the waist down. Bruce and Kathy would later divorce and he didn’t remarry.
Bruce was a member of the Taylor Fire Department before his accident and remained on the department as treasurer for quite some time afterward. He was also a trustee on the Taylor Village Board. Bruce also served on several councils and was a staunch advocate for disability rights. One of those councils was Independent Living Resources, where he was able to travel throughout the country attending meetings and seminars, and was very proud to be able to live independently with his disability. He was especially proud of being in Wisconsin’s Blue Book. Bruce also spent time speaking to local high school students after his accident about the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle, he was adamant that without his helmet, he would not have survived it. There was nothing that Bruce loved more than his sons: Eric, Ryan, and Justin, and then grandchildren: Blake, Aiden, Roslyn, Dawson, Alexandria and Vivica. If there was an event that they were involved in, you could guarantee that he would be there…rain, snow, or anything in between. He thoroughly enjoyed watching and supporting all of them in their respective sports and activities.
Bruce is survived by sons: Eric (Alaysha) Huseboe, Ryan (Holly) Huseboe and Justin (fiancé Crystal) Huseboe; his beloved grandchildren: Blake, Aiden, Roslyn, Dawson, Alexandria and Vivica; mother, Clara Huseboe; brothers: Mark (Theresa) and Paul (Joan); sisters: Sara Husemoen and Erica Kraemer; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; son, Richard; twin brother, Vaughn; and brother-in-law, Gary Husemoen.
A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Villiage of Taylor Community Center. Burial will be private in Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Taylor. To express condolences to his family online, please visit www.wozneykillianfh.com.
