David “Dave” L.Tranberg

David “Dave” Lee Tranberg, 78, Trempealeau, graduated to his Heavenly Home, March 11, 2024, at Gundersen Health System, surrounded by his family.

Dave was born to Odell and Geraldine Tranberg of Galesville, and graduated from Gale-Ettrick High School in 1964. Dave met the love of his life, Bev (Dahl), on a blind date in 1971. They shared 51 years of marriage and together raised four beautiful daughters. They were blessed with 13 grandchildren, one great- grandchild, and a beloved cat named Brody. Some of Dave’s last words were, “I love all my girls.”

Dave had many fond memories of growing up on the family farm. He cherished time spent on the tractor working alongside his dad and took pride in raising and showing Duroc pigs at the County fair as part of 4-H. He took great joy in reminiscing and sharing farm stories with his loved ones.

Dave had a very strong work ethic his entire life. He worked many jobs, most notably a 40-year career as a Technician at Phoneco in Galesville. He also served many in the community through his self-owned business, Dave Tranberg’s Telephone Sales and Service.

Dave’s faith and church were extremely important to him, and he devoted his life to serving the Lord. He made it his mission to lead people in accepting Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. He treasured his church family and spent many hours in joyful service at Connect Church in Onalaska.

Dave shared his warm, genuine smile with everyone he encountered. He always said, “a stranger is a friend not yet met.” He was thoughtful, kind, generous, intuitive to people’s feelings, and always had a positive, uplifting word to say. He loved to tell “Dad” jokes and made sure to call loved ones to sing Happy Birthday to them on their special day. His gentleness and compassion will be sincerely missed.

Dave is survived by his wife, Bev, of Trempealeau; daughters: Shari Long, of Lemoore, CA, Erin (Jerry) Valley, of La Crosse, WI, Rebecca (Ray) Wurzel, of Trempealeau, WI, Allison (Joon) Jeon, of Los Angeles, CA; 13 grandchildren: Anita (Dalton), Jonathan, Brianna, Brittany, Caleb, Niesa, Dominick, Alayna, Kayla, Brynlee, Camden, Greenlee, Kallista; and great-granddaughter, Sophia.

He is also survived by his siblings: Lynda (Harlan) Hjerleid, Marlene (Doug) Holte, Laurie (Randy) McCutchen, Steve (Laura) Tranberg and Melanie (Rick) Wolle; brother-in-law, John Olson; and many nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Geraldine Tranberg; sister, Julie Olson; brother, Gene Tranberg; sister-in-law, Peggy Tranberg; and two unborn Valley grandchildren.
