Dolores A. Beardsley

 

Dolores A. Beardsley, 89, of Whitehall, died peacefully at home, surrounded by all of her children and all of her grandchildren, Friday, January 13, 2023.

Dolores was born March 24, 1933, in Macon Township, IL, to Forbus and Myrtle (Fitch) Stiltz. She married Orin W. Beardsley, August 14, 1955, in Livermore, IA. Orin preceded Dolores in death, October 27, 2001.

Dolores worked for the Whitehall School District after her children had reached school age and also worked at the Whitehall Public Library. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, baking and camping with family. Her most loved times were just being with family. Dolores also volunteered for many organizations, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital Auxiliary.

Dolores is survived by a son, Bill (Mai) Beardsley of La Crosse; two daughters: Shari (Ryan) Peters of Blair and Dawn (Randy) Vold of Osseo; six grandchildren: Euriah (Sarah) Vold; Kristin (Chris) Boettcher, Noah (Joy) Beardsley, Gabby (Michael) Beardsley, Kassie (Chad) Maassen and Lucas (Brenna) Peters; four great-grandchildren: Jace, Henli and Charlie Boettcher and Myla Maassen; two brothers: Greg (Kathy) Stiltz and David (Chris) Stiltz; and a sister, Fern (Paul) Slaikeu.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by son, Brian; two brothers: Ray and Larry Stiltz; and a daughter-in-law, Paulette Fox-Beardsley.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall with Pastor Peter Jonas officiating. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be designated to St. Croix Hospice (Eau Claire), Pigeon Falls Health Care Center (Pigeon Falls) or Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (Whitehall).

Burial will be at Union Cemetery in Livermore, IA, at a later date.
