Elaine S. Kupka

Elaine Stella Kupka, 86, of Whitehall, died Monday, March 23, 2020, at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.

Elaine was born October 16, 1933, in Irvin Coulee, rural Whitehall, to Selmer and Emma (Engen) Johnson. She married Richard Kupka, July 26, 1951, at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in North Creek. Richard preceded Elaine in death, May 7, 2009.

Elaine was employed as a CNA at Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall for many years prior to her retirement. She also farmed with her husband. Elaine enjoyed dancing, listening to music and going to the casino, but most of all, she enjoyed her family. Her coffee pot was always on and her door always open. She greeted all with her welcoming smile.

Elaine is survived by her children: a daughter, Judy, of Osseo; and two sons: Gary and Patric (Kathleen) both of Whitehall; seven grandchildren: Jamie (Darcy) Goplin, Riley (Sheila) Kupka, Jesse (Cailyn Kneifl) Kupka, Amelia (David Jr.) Olson of Whitehall, Shane (Melinda) Goplin of Osseo, Stacy Sokup of Blair and John (Breanne Doroff) Kupka of Eau Claire; great-grandchildren: Chelsie (David Jr.) Piggott, Shylana and Shad Goplin, David III, Lyle, Vivian and Alice Olson of Whitehall, Kendra, Vaida and Brinna Goplin, Dahlia, Cassidy and Margery Kupka of Osseo and Dayton Sokup of Blair; two great-great-grandchildren: Mya Goplin-West and David III (Trey) Piggott of Whitehall; two sisters-in-law: MaryAnn Johnson of Harmony, MN., and Caroline Johnson of Sheboygan; two brothers-in-law: Gaylord Hanson of Pigeon Falls, and Wally Ryan of Whitehall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Nolan Goplin; a great-great-granddaughter, Ariyah Nolynn Goplin-West; three sisters: Thelma Hanson, Hazel Foss and her twin sister, Shirley Ryan; two brothers, Spencer and Rodney Johnson.

Arrangements are pending with Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and will be announced when they are scheduled.
