Jacqueline “Jackie” Pientok

Jacqueline “Jackie” Pientok died November 4, 2023, at the age of 87.

Jackie was born August 12, 1936, in Arcadia, to Roy and Angeline (Swietz) Dworschak. She married Art Pientok in May of 1960, and moved to Independence. She and Art farmed until his death, August 5, 1995. Jackie worked in retail in her early years at “dime stores” in Arcadia and then in Independence. Later, she also spent over 20 years working as a baker in the deli at Clippers IGA in Independence.

Jackie was a polio survivor, but never let it slow her down. She lived life to the fullest. Jackie loved cats and had many as household friends throughout her life. She enjoyed playing cards for the challenge and the camaraderie. Jackie enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and family, and the occasional spin on the snowmobile. She was loved for her wit, her determination to remain independent and all of the tasty goodies she would prepare for farm workers, friends and family events.

Jackie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Art Pientok; parents; and brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Sheri Dworschak. Jackie is now at peace with Art and other loved ones who have departed before her.

She is survived by family and friends who will dearly miss her loving spirit.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence. Father George Thayilkuzhithottu officiated.
