Jonathon “Jon” H. Blaha

 

Jonathon “Jon” Harry Blaha, 44, of Whitehall, died Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

Jonathon was born November 3, 1979, in La Crosse, to Michael J. and Julie K. (Kulig) Blaha.

Jon was caring and devoted to his family and friends. He enjoyed attending events that included his family and friends, especially sporting events, where his sons and nephews participated. Jon was a kind man that had a very loving, generous nature and never had a bad word for anyone.

Jon’s sense of humor could lighten up any situation. He was currently a member of Operating Engineers Local 139 and previously spent many years as an over the road trucker.

Jonathan is survived by his two sons: Bailey and Chase (Gabby Hegland) Blaha; his parents, Mike and Julie Blaha; a brother, Mitchell (Tina Steele) Blaha; and nephews: Dustyn (Sammie Cooney) and their son, Brandon, Cody (Alaiyna Reidel), Braydon and Brody; his forever love, Brooke Kopp (Cairns) and her children, Cooper and Nellie; his honorary nephews: Carson and Michael Campbell; and his paternal grandmother, Dora Jean (Lokken) Blaha.

In addition to his maternal grandparents, Harry and Eleanore (Halama) Kulig; and paternal grandfather, Jerome Blaha; Jonathan was preceded in death by an uncle, Mark Blaha; and an infant brother.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Lincoln Cemetery in Whitehall. Following the graveside service, visitation was held at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a celebration of life that followed at the Andy and Debbie Olson residence, W17880 Duebbert Rd., rural Whitehall.
