Laurel B. Bollin

 

Laurel Beverly Bollin, 71, of Winona, MN, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, in the comfort of her home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Laurel was born April 5, 1951, in Arcadia, to Edwin and Jennie (Halverson) Guenther, and grew up with her family on a dairy farm. After graduating from Arcadia High School, she worked for over 42 years at Lake Center Switch in Winona, MN. This was also where she met her husband, Norm. With their blended families, they enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2002.

Laurel will be remembered for her enjoyment of traveling, crocheting beautiful projects, doing yard work, gardening, flowers, reading, being on the river and cooking for her boys and grandchildren.

Laurel is lovingly survived by her sons: Robert Guenther and James Guenther; grandchildren: Cody (Audery) Smith, Ashlyn Guenther and Dekota Guenther; great-grandchildren: Leon, Renn and Hudson; a special friend, Gene Rackow; sister, Diane Thronson; a sister-in-law, Joan Guenther; as well as other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Jennie; husband, Norman Bollin; sister, Edith Olson; brothers: Wilmer Guenther, Everett Guenther and Clifford Guenther; a brother-in-law, Maynard Olson; nephew, Michael Thronson; and a niece, Tricia Guenther. 

Honoring Laurel’s wishes, services and burial will be held privately for her family. A Celebration of Life for Laurel is being planned for a later date.
