LeRoy E. Anderson

LeRoy E. Anderson, 91, of Holmen, and formerly of Galesville, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 5, 2022.

LeRoy was born to Edward and Luella (Twesme) Anderson in rural Ettrick and was an only child. He attended Smith Country School and graduated from Galesville High School. In 1950, LeRoy married Virginia Schwertel of Trempealeau. They raised four children in the rural Galesville community. For several years, LeRoy helped his father, hauling milk in cream cans as bulk systems were not yet in service. Eventually, he found his real passion in sales.

LeRoy was an active member of French Creek Lutheran Church where he served as a Deacon and also taught Sunday school. He was an avid card player and would sit down to play whenever there was a game available. LeRoy also liked to fish, hunt and curl. However, his passion was golf as he played until he was 90.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Virginia, of 72 years; four children: Kerry (Karla) Anderson, Marshall (Barbara) Anderson, Cheryl (Paul) Nelson and Desiree (Paul) Williamson; eight grandchildren: Melissa (Miguel) Martinez Anderson, Tara (David) Hoster, Chad (Emily) Anderson, Shaun (Elizabeth) Anderson, Ryan (Meghan) Quinn, Megan (Justin) Kopetsky, Sara (David) Sterling and Marcus (Kelsey) Williamson; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all those at Bluffview Memory Care Center and Mayo Hospice.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Dickinson Family Funeral Home, 515 McHugh Rd., Holmen. Pastor Mary Beth Scow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
