Marion Solberg

Marion Solberg, 94, passed away November 23, 2021, at Grand View Care Center. She transitioned peacefully with her daughter, Helen, at her side.

Marion was born to Olga and Michael Chrisinger of Hebruon Township in Northern Minnesota, the youngest of seven children. She moved to Red Wing, MN, as a teen. Marion met Harvey Solberg on trips to the Blair area. They married and had five children: Sandra Lee Johnson, Faribault, MN; Larry Solberg, San Miguel, Mexico; Helen Jensen, Manistique, MI; Al Solberg, Sun Prairie, WI; Mary Temme, Brookfield, WI.

Marion had a generous and loving heart. She had a great love of flowers with quilting coming in second. She was “that quilt lady” to many with her quilts having warmed many a child’s bed. This brought her memories of joy.

She is survived by her grandchildren: Lonnie Linberg, Madison, WI; Michelle Solberg, Mexico City, Mexico; Allison Solberg, Los Angeles, CA; Miles Rumppe, Houston, TX; Sam Temme, Wauwatosa, WI; also, great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews in Wisconsin and Virginia.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; daughter, Sandra; and grandson, Zachary.

Marion chose not to have a funeral. That was not her style. It was her last request that, on a summers day, she be placed with her mother who passed away when Marion was just a child.

Kratz Funeral Home – Portage, WI (www.kratzfuneralhome.com) is assisting the family.
