Ralph R. Waletzko

 

Ralph Roy Waletzko, 91, of Whitehall, died peacefully in his home, Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Ralph was born October 1, 1932, in Arcadia, to Jacob and Elizabeth (Misch) Waletzko. He married Mary Waletski in 1954 in Arcadia. They later divorced. Ralph later married Elizabeth Stoddard, May 7, 1983, in Onalaska. They were able to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary just a few months prior to her death. Ralph had a special friend named Connie Herman for seven years.

Ralph was employed at The Cannery in his early years. He then had a career as a meat cutter for the Whitehall Packing Plant until the plant shut down. Afterwards, he worked briefly at Gold ’N Plump until he moved to Kenosha to continue his meat cutting career at the Kenosha Beef Packing Plant until his retirement.

Ralph enjoyed dancing to waltzes and polkas. If not dancing, he was fishing, hunting or gardening.

Ralph is survived by his three daughters: Janice Maier, Rita Adank and Kathy (Ron) Adank; two brothers: LeRoy (Rosie) Waletzko, Roger (Diane) Waletzko; a sister, Jeanette Tilghman; a sister-in-law, Rose Waletzko; 13 grandchildren; 13 great­-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

Through Ralph’s second marriage, he acquired seven daughters and a son: Darlene (Clarence) Matchey, Marlyn Valley, Sharon (Dennis) Herold, Virginia Stoddard, Daniel Stoddard, Paulette (David) Schmidt, Charlene (Joel) Herold and Jeanette (Dan) Heth; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; four sisters-in- law: Lucille Lindsay, Doris Miller, Charlotte Heller and Sue Burnett; a brother-in-law, Robert Burnett; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary (Waletzki-Waletzko) Hauge; his beloved wife, Elizabeth Waletzko; two brothers: Aloizy Waletzko and Edmund Waletzko; three sisters: Evelyn Rebarchek, Lorraine Marsolek and Darlene Kaiser; 10 brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; two grandsons; and five sons-in-law.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Whitehall. Father George officiated. Burial was at Saint Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in North Creek, rural Arcadia. There was a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024, prior to the Mass.
