Theresa “Janice” “Gillie” Gilbertson

 

Theresa “Janice” “Gillie” Gilbertson, 82, passed away October 29, 2025, at home, with her husband by her side.

Janice was born December 7, 1942, to Edward and Bernadette “Bernice” (Shepherd) Urbick in Arcadia. She married Larry Albert Gilbertson, November 24, 1962, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Arcadia. The couple was blessed with 62 years of marriage. Janice was a homemaker while her children were young, and was then employed at the Winona Knitting Mills prior to employment at Pat’s Country Meat Market for 28 years, followed by Kwik Trip for eight years. Janice enjoyed cooking and baking, putting together puzzles, reading, watching football and cowboy shows, deer hunting season, and cutting grass at the farm and Fagernes Lutheran Cemetery with her husband.

Janice is survived by her husband, Larry; children: Theresa Gilbertson, Daniel Gilbertson, Lisa Lisowski, and David (Karen) Gilbertson; brothers and sisters: Richard (Gloria) Urbick, Ruth Gabel, Bonnie (Dale) Husman, Michael Urbick, Edward (Diane) Urbick; grandchildren: Eric (Kayla) Korpal, Samantha (Samuel) Braun, Dylan Lisowski, Nikki (Anthony) Archuleta, Taylor (Danielle) Tullius, Tyler (Dustin) Tullius, Jesse (Jodi) Gilbertson, Reese Gilbertson, Zander Gilbertson, and Alfie Gilbetson; great-grandchildren: Aryana Korpal, Brett Korpal, Brody Braun, Luciana Braun, Titus Braun, Brooks Archuleta, Ashton Archuleta; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David; grandparents; aunts and uncles; brother-in-law, George Gabel: sister-in-law, Irene Gilbertson; and mother and father-in-law, Albert and Jennie Gilbertson. 

Special thanks to David Gilbertson, Karen Haines, Susie Waldera and Winona Hospice for their care and support, and Lisa Lisowski for going above and beyond to keep Mom comfortable at home.
