Thomas J. Daffinson

 

Thomas James Daffinson, 76, of rural Hixton, died Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield after a brief illness.

Thomas was born December 21, 1945, in Arcadia, to Einar and Marjorie (Brom) Daffinson. He married Susan Mortenson, January 2, 1965, at Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church in Trempealeau.

Thomas worked construction, farmed, hauled milk and was the town of Curran patrolman.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan; eight children: Cheryl, Lori (Ronnie) Casper, Tom (Melanie), Becky (Brett) Elvaker, Angela Sanders, Sheila, Shelly and Mike (Liz); 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Einar (Diane) and Terry (Carla) Daffinson; four sisters: Pat (Roger) Mikkelson, Sally Ann Hundt, Sharon (Ray) Wenzlaff and Diane (Craig) Ouellette; three brothers-in-law: David Halverson, Gary Mortenson and Dale Mortenson; a sister-in-law, Sharon (Jerry) Linsmeyer; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved German Shepherds: Zoltan, Rin Tin Tin and Jani Lane.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his in-laws: Stanley and Deloris Mortenson; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Wanetta Daffinson; two sisters: Kathy Halverson and Juanita “Sis” Daffinson; and three brothers-in-law: Robert Mortenson, George Simonson and Larry Hundt.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., at Jack Funeral Home in Blair with Pastor Paul Sannerud officiating. Burial will be at West Garden Valley Cemetery in rural Alma Center.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
