Velda M. Buhler

Velda May Buhler, 67, died Saturday, July 31, 2021, surrounded by her family, at Rolling Meadows in Strum.

Velda was born March 27, 1954, in Black River Falls to Melvin and Hattie (Parlow) Roberts. After graduating high school, Velda went on to get her license as an LPN. She married and later divorced after raising her two children. She then met the love of her life, Jerry Garrett who preceded her in death.

Velda was very family-oriented, always putting family first. She loved spending her time and talents on her children and grandchildren. She was an animal lover as well — so she particularly enjoyed her playtime moments with her puppies and grandpups.

She was very hands-on crafty and loved to make anything with yarn, especially knitting, crocheting, and cross-stitching. In the summers, she enjoyed spending time gardening. Velda also collected angels, crosses and various knick-knacks which she would pass along to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Velda are her children: Luke (Melody) Buhler and Edie Buhler; her four grandchildren: Alex Mann, Gloria Buhler, Rivas Orozco and Kayla (Justin) Keller; six great-grandchildren; her brothers: Dennis (Dorothy) Roberts and Thomas Roberts; her sisters: Mary Ellen Moody and Nina Conradson; her sister-in-law, Nancy Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her love and best friend, Jerry Garrett; her parents; an infant child; her brother, John Roberts; sister-in-law, Vi Roberts; and brothers-in-law: Wayne Moody and William Conradson.

Funeral services for Velda will be Saturday August 7, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Shamrock Union Church, N4849 County Road S, East of Hwy 27. The Reverend Terry Marg will officiate with burial immediately following the service. Friends may call on the family during a visitation at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers or plants memorials are preferred.
