Vickie L. Nichi

 

Vickie L. Nichi, 70, resident of Kenosha, died Monday, April 18, 2022, at her residence, with her husband and friends at her side.

Vickie was born March 31, 1952, in La Crosse. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Lanice (Thorson) VanSlyke. Vickie was educated in the schools of La Crosse and the schools of Kenosha. She attended cosmetology school in Madison and attended classes at Carthage College. On June 16, 1984, Vickie married Ron Nichi at Pigeon Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls.

She was employed at the Flair Styling Studio in Kenosha and at KHDS (Kenosha Humans Development Service) as a program manager. She also worked at Bell Therapy.

Vickie loved to play tennis and was an avid skier. She enjoyed working on the family tree and was a talented rosemaling painter. She loved spending time with her daughter and was a member of the Sons of Norway.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Ron, of Kenosha; and her daughter, Kristin, of New Mexico. She is further survived by brother and sister in-law, Rick and Julie Nichi of Arizona; aunts and uncles: Mary and Bob Johnson, Madison Avis Knutson, Linda Trotter, Gerald Thorson, and Doug England, all of Pigeon Falls; and many cousins.

A graveside service for Vickie was held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Pigeon Creek Cemetery. Pastor Jenny Hatleli officiated.
