Arcadia takes diamond losses to Viroqua, Logan
A doubleheader against the team atop the Coulee Conference standings and a nonconference matchup with La Crosse Logan handed the Arcadia High School baseball team three losses last week.
Arcadia was scheduled to play Westby on Tuesday before a rivalry matchup at home against G-E-T on Friday. A tournament in Viroqua awaits the Raiders this Saturday.

The lone unbeaten team in the Coulee Conference swept a doubleheader against the Raiders at Viroqua High School last Tuesday.
The Blackhawks (12-4, 8-0 Coulee) restricted Arcadia to two hits in the opening game on Tuesday with Viroqua pitcher Tyler Quackenbush throwing 14 strikeouts. Login Scow pitched for Arcadia, allowing seven hits to go with two strikeouts.
Game two saw more offense from both teams, as Viroqua took a 5-0 lead before Arcadia made it 5-3 by the end of the fifth inning. Viroqua ended the game with five unanswered runs.
Three different Viroqua players had multiple hits, including Myles Fry who finished with a double and a home run. Five different players recorded one hit apiece for Arcadia.
Max Sobotta and Prestin Scow each pitched for the visitors, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits. Sobotta had two strikeouts, and the pair combined for four walks.

Friday’s nonconference game in Arcadia was five innings long after the visitors claimed an 8-0 advantage in the first inning.
Arcadia scored its lone run in the bottom of the third when Sobotta stole home on a passed ball.
Logan recorded 14 hits, including three apiece from James Gruen and Jackson Bosch.
Kube Szafran pitched for the visitors, allowing two hits while striking out four Raider batters. Prestin Scow and Caleb Pronschinske split pitching duties for the hosts.
