Arcadia boys fifth, G-E-T ninth at Dick Mitchell Invitational

Against larger schools and some of the top programs in the area, the Arcadia boys cross country team came away with a fifth-place finish.

The Raiders had three runners place inside the top 25 as they scored 129 team points, behind Eastview (108), Holmen (92), DeForest (45) and West Salem (39). G-E-T finished ninth with 237 points. 

Nestor Badillo took 10th overall, while Andy Monroy finished 19th and Peyton Nelson was 24th. Cole Lockington gave the team a fourth top-30 finisher, by taking 27th out of 103 runners. Iva Aguilar was the team’s fifth runner, taking 50th overall. Matthew Badillo and Yahir Gonzalez were the team’s fifth and sixth runners, finishing 65th and 82nd.

Freshman Adrian Bautista led G-E-T, taking 35th overall. Sawyer Smock finished 44th followed by Xander Burmeister, 47th; AJ Earney, 55th; Carter Giemza, 59th; Liam Caya, 85th and Quinn O’Neil, 97th.

The G-E-T girls team finished 11th in the team standings. Adrianna Rotering led the squad by taking 24th while AJ Parker finished 54th; Isabella Tibbits, 60th; Reyna Garcia, 77th; Ellie Gold, 78th and Ava Roessler, 83rd.

The Arcadia girls team did not have any runners in the varsity race. 

Arcadia returns to Maple Grove venues next Monday for a competition before hosting a meet at its high school next week Saturday. G-E-T will run at Lake Mills Golf Course this Friday before competing in Arcadia next week Saturday.
