Arcadia girls lose to two of area’s best

A couple of games against two of the best teams in the area both resulted in losses for the Arcadia girls basketball team.

Last week Monday it was an undefeated Bangor team that upended the Raiders 65-47. On Thursday it was a two-loss West Salem team that scored a 67-28 win.

The Raiders fell to 3-11 overall and 3-2 in Coulee Conference play, behind Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau (4-1) and West Salem (6-0) in the standings. The Raiders were slated to play at G-E-T on Tuesday with a game at Tomah on Thursday.

This coming Tuesday, Arcadia hosts Westby. 

Bangor 65 Arcadia 47

An undefeated team was too much for the Raiders.

Bangor’s defense held Arcadia to under 30 percent from the field, including seven-for-30 on three-point attempts. 

Breah Golden led Arcadia with 21 points while Casidi Pehler scored 10 and pulled down 11 rebounds, while adding five assists. Kianna Suchla finished with seven points, Alyssa Schank, three and Kaitlyn Bremer, one.

W. Salem 67 Arcadia 28

It was all West Salem as the Panthers used a balanced offense to pick up a lopsided win.

Casidi Pehler scored 10 points for Arcadia, but no other statistics or information were reported to the Times.

West Salem shot 39.7 percent from the field as they had Anna McConkey lead the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ella Jordan added 12 points and six other players scored at least three.
