Arcadia golf claims another conference victory at home course, G-E-T second

The two Trempealeau County prep boys golf teams in the Coulee Conference finished at the top of the leaderboard in a conference meet at Arcadia Country Club last week.
The host Raiders took advantage of playing on their home course, winning the meet last Tuesday with a team score of 163. Nearby Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau came in second with their 176, just ahead of Black River Falls and West Salem at 177.
Arcadia won the event despite not having the lowest individual score of the day, as Westby/Viroqua’s Brooks Hoffland earned medalist honors with his event-best 1-over par 37.
The Raiders still scored consistently as a team to gather enough points for the win—Arcadia saw all six of its golfers place inside the top 11 at the par-35 course on Golf Lane.
Cole Sobotta’s 38 was good for second place on Tuesday to lead Arcadia, while Sid Halvorsen shot a 41 to tie for fourth with three other golfers, including a pair of G-E-T golfers in Nic Jumper and Domanick Knott.
Arcadia’s next group of golfers were as tight as it gets in golf. Caleb Pronschinske, Dustin Klonecki, Joey Theis and Kaiden Rotering all shared a final score of 42 for the Raiders, which tied them for eighth with three other Coulee golfers.
The Red Hawks had two other golfers finish inside the top 20 in Mason Kromery and Maddox Scow, who both shot a 47.
Kylan Olson (49) and A.J. Johnson (54) also competed for G-E-T.
Westby/Viroqua finished fifth as a team with a 178, followed by Luther (187) and Hillsboro (221).
Coulee play was set to continue at Viroqua Hills Golf Course on Monday before both county teams head to an invitational meet in Nekoosa on Wednesday.
The Red Hawks are also scheduled to join Whitehall at an invitational hosted by Adams-Friendship on Thursday.
