Arcadia stumped by undefeated Aquinas
A 25-yard fumble return for a touchdown opened a Coulee Conference game between the top team in Division Five and Arcadia last week. It was a sign of what was to come in a 46-6 win for Aquinas.
Arcadia is set to visit Altoona (3-4 overall, 2-3 Coulee Conference) this week.
The unbeaten Blugolds are currently the top ranked team in Division Five with a 7-0 season and a perfect 5-0 slate in the conference. Aquinas scored all of its points in the first half on Friday, adding a trio of running scores to a 74-yard passing touchdown before capping its scoring with a 100-yard interception returned for a touchdown by Jackson Flottmeyer.
Arcadia (3-4, 2-3) got on the board in the third quarter thanks to a long passing play of their own when quarterback Kaiden Rotering found Devon Baier for a 38-yard play to close the scoring.
Rotering finished with a career best 181 passing yards, adding an interception to the touchdown throw and leading the Raiders with 43 rushing yards. Baier hauled in eight catches to lead all players on Friday, also pacing Arcadia with 47 receiving yards.
Logan Bremer made a big play on special teams for Arcadia, returning a kick 60 yards to lead all players in that department.
