B-T boys win home meet, G-E-T teams take second

The Blair-Taylor boys track team took first, while the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau teams were both second at the Lien/Anderson Invitational at B-T last week Tuesday.

Kristoffer Sandal, Hunter Wagner and DaVonne Turner all had at least a hand in two first-place finishes for the Wildcats. Sandal won both the 800 and 1600, Turner won the 100 and the long jump while Wagner won the 400 and ran on the first-place 1600 relay team with Riley McAdams, Evan Nehring and Ben Lien. Turner added second-place finishes in the 200 and on the 400-relay team with Nehring, McAdams and Connor Kruse. 

B-T’s 3200 relay team of Juan Lopez, Ryan Flynn, Billy Miller and Riley Gunderson also took first.

G-E-T had three first-place finishes as Oscar Jimenez won the 110 hurdles, Kyle Seiling the triple jump and Carter Repaal the shot put. G-E-T took the top three spots in the shot put as Cale Pickering was second and Taylor Haney, third. 

Max Marsolek won the pole vault for Independence/Gilmanton, which finished fourth in the team standings.

Whitehall’s top finishers were Luke Beighley in the shot put and Nolan Thompson in the pole vault, both took fourth. The Norse finished 10th as a team.

The G-E-T girls took second in the team standings with one first-place finish. Their 400 relay team of Madelyn Seymour, Libby Truax, Kaylee Hauge and Alayna Stendahl brought home a gold medal. 

Paige Kelly won the 300 hurdles and the 200 for B-T which tied with I/G for fourth place in the team standings. Kelly also took second in the 100. Taylor Sylla won both the 1600 and 3200 for I/G. 

Avvia Herman took the 100 hurdle championship for Whitehall. The Whitehall girls finished ninth in the team standings.
