B-T girls win DC True Team meet

Depth showed for the Blair-Taylor girls track team as it won the Dairyland Conference True Team meet in Whitehall on Thursday.

The meet scores every participant with the winners scoring 30 points and every other finisher scoring one fewer. The B-T girls scored 819 points, well ahead of second-place Eleva-Strum. Whitehall was third and Independence/Gilmanton finished seventh.

The Whitehall boys took second with a handful of first-place finishes. The B-T boys were third and I/G was seventh.

The teams will all meet again on Thursday for the Dairyland Conference championship meet in Independence.

DC True Team

Paige Kelly led the B-T girls with three top-three finishes. Kelly won the 300 hurdles while taking second in the 100 and the discus. She was also fourth in the shot put.

Lou Castrique added a first-place finish for B-T in the high jump.

Avery Sonsalla won the triple jump for the Whitehall girls while Kia Back took the 1600 for I/G. Back was also second in the 3200, where Gracie Rombalski took third. 

Kevin Carroll had at least a hand in three first-place finishes for the Whitehall boys. 

The senior won the 800 and the 1600 and ran on the first-place 1600 relay team with Payton Thompson, Jonathan Thorn and Cayden Johnson.

Thorn also won the 400 and was second in the 800. Thompson ran on the first-place 3200 relay team. Ben Mohan was also on the 3200 team and won the high jump. 

DaVonne Turner took second in the 100, high jump and long jump and third in the 200 for the B-T boys. 

Kevin Halvorson was the top finisher for the I/G boys, taking second in the pole vault.
