Blaschko, Hughes land on All-Coulee first team

Having already established himself as one of the best running backs in the Coulee Conference as a junior, Arcadia’s Max Blaschko still found a way to level up even further during a record-breaking senior season.

The Raiders’ bell-cow running back earned a spot on the All-Coulee first team for a second straight year following a 2025 season that set a new single-year mark for rushing excellence in the history of Arcadia football.

Blaschko eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in 2024 and earned first-team honors by compiling 1,099 yards and finding the end zone nine times as a junior. He blew those totals out of the water as a senior, racking up 1,800 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns while averaging 7.1 yards per carry, regularly wearing opposing defenses down and allowing the Raiders to salt games away late in the second half.

In fact, Blaschko’s mark of 1,800 yards set a new single-season record for the Raiders, surpassing the mark of 1,793 yards set by Justin Kostner in 1999.

Of course, a potent rushing attack almost always starts with the guys up front, and fittingly Blaschko was joined on the All-Coulee first team by one of his offensive linemen: senior Austin Hughes.

Blaschko was also a second-team selection as a defensive lineman for a second straight season, making him one of six Raider picks on the second team. He was joined by junior Jonah Slaby (who made it as both a wide receiver and defensive back), junior offensive lineman Keven Luna, junior linebacker Logan Breska and junior punter Carter Wegman.

Slaby was the team’s leading receiver with 37 receptions, 528 yards and six touchdowns while also hauling in a team-high six interceptions on defense. Breska led the Raiders in a number of defensive categories, including total tackles (71), solo tackles (45), tackles for loss (13) and sacks (six).

Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau junior Isaiah Carroll made it to the second team for the Red Hawks as a wide receiver after putting up 508 yards and six touchdowns on 37 receptions. Carroll also ran for a pair of touchdowns during the season.

The list of All-Coulee honorable mentions included Arcadia senior offensive lineman Carson Wozney and G-E-T junior linebacker Luke Herman.

The Aquinas Blugolds won the Coulee championship after posting a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play. Aquinas players nabbed both of the top individual honors as well, with Waylon Hargrove being named the Coulee Player of the Year and William Flottmeyer being named Lineman of the Year.

Following the Blugolds in the Coulee standings were West Salem in second at 6-1, Arcadia in third at 5-2, Luther in fourth at 4-3, Westby in fifth at 3-4, Black River Falls in sixth at 2-5, G-E-T in seventh at 1-6 and Viroqua in eighth at 0-7.
