G-E-T boys take second at SCC/Coulee Challenge

Only one team scored more points than the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau boys track and field team at last Friday’s SCC/Coulee Challenge invitational track and field meet at UW-La Crosse.
Sam Ruiter won the mile run i and joined classmate Brady Seiling as individual champions at the event.
Arcadia won three events on the boys’ side as sophomore Ted Teske took the top spot in the open 400, senior Nestor Badillo won the 3200 and the Raiders also won the 1600 relay.
The Red Hawks scored 96 points as a team and finished behind only West Salem (126), which took second in the girls’ events with a 102 behind top team Westby (126).
The G-E-T girls raced to fourth place with 76 team points, also behind Viroqua (80). Arcadia took fifth with 57 points at the 12-team girls event, and the Arcadia boys finished sixth.
Junior Casidi Pehler was Trempealeau County’s lone winner in the girls events thanks to her discus throw of 100 feet. Freshman Jaylie Dahl also performed in a big way for Arcadia, taking second in the 400-meter dash and earning third-place times in the 100 and 200.
The Red Hawks saw multiple athletes place second in the boys’ competition, including Omar Jimenez (300 hurdles), Carter Repaal (shot put) and the 400-meter relay team of Brady and Kyle Seiling, Max Knapmiller and Charlie Mattison.
Arcadia also got a second place finish from Tegan Michalak in the girls’ 3200-meter run, while G-E-T distance runner Adrianna Rotering finished second in both the 800 and 1600-meter races.
Alayna Stendahl took second as an individual (long jump) and joined teammates Reyna Garcia, Myabelle Pretasky and Madelyn Seymour with another second place finish in the 1600-meter relay.
