G-E-T girls eighth, boys 11th at Mauston indoor meet

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau girls track team opened the season with a finish just inside the top 10, while the boys team was barely outside of it when they competed at the Golden Eagle Invitational at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Saturday.

The meet, hosted by Mauston, had 14 boys and girls teams competing; Onalaska swept the team titles.

The top G-E-T finisher was AJ Parker, who took second in the 3200 run. She also ran on the fourth-place 3200 relay team with Nora Higgins, Elisa Mari and Delilah Boberg. Kaylee Hauge took fourth in the 400 for the Red Hawks as did Jordan Stanislowski in the triple jump. Stanislowski was also on the fifth-place 1600 relay team with Alayna Stendahl, Madelyn Seymour and Clara Schulze. Adrianna Rotering took fifth in the 1600.

The G-E-T boys team got a third-place finish from its 1600 relay team of Mason Brone, Omar Jimenez, Kyle Seiling and Elijah Sorenson. Carter Repaal was fourth in the shot put.
