I/G softball season ends with loss to P/A

While they had a couple of close games against Pepin/Alma during the regular season, the Independence/Gilmanton softball team struggled in a 12-2 postseason loss last week Tuesday.

The Indees lost both games to the Eagles during the regular season, but were within striking distance, falling 5-2 on April 28 and 8-2 on May 13. This time around, however, the Indees lost by 10 runs in six innings as their season came to an end in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association regional semifinal. No further information from that game was reported to the Times.

The Eagles went on to lose in the next round, falling to Columbus Catholic, 13-3, in five innings. Columbus played Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in the sectional on Tuesday of this week. 

The Indees finished with a 6-14 record.
