Indee XC teams compete at ACL

Although they didn’t have a full team, the Independence/Gilmanton cross country runners were in action at Alma Center Lincoln on Thursday.

It was the second week in a row that the Indees ran at AC Lincoln. This time Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran topped AC Lincoln for the title on the boys side, while AC Lincoln was the only girls team competing.

The Indees are slated to run again on Thursday, this time at Cochrane-Fountain City.

Leah Sylla was the top finisher for the Indees, taking fifth in her race.

Emma Pietrek, Bianca Najera and Cora Sonsalla were the only other I/G girls competing as they finished eighth-through-ninth.

Michael Onstad led the Indee boys, taking seventh overall while Clay Herdahl was ninth.
