Indees forfeit last football game

For the second time this season, the Independence/Gilmanton football team didn’t have enough players to take the field.

The Indees forfeited to Alma/Pepin last Friday, meaning the team finished the season with a 0-9 record. It was the team’s second loss by forfeit of the season, as it also forfeited to Whitehall on Sept. 11.

The I/G program finished this season with 22 players; 10 of them were seniors. The Indees also had seven freshmen, and coach Austin Whitwam said the team has good participation numbers in the middle school program.
