Norse make up ground in DC golf standings

The top three teams remained the same, but the third team snuck into the top two in one Dairyland Conference meet last week.
Cochrane-Fountain City has won all four meets so far this season and Eleva-Strum has taken second in three of the meets, but Whitehall broke into the top two last week Tuesday at Independence’s home meet in Arcadia. The Norse dropped back down to third Thursday in Osseo. Independence also had some movement, taking fourth in Arcadia and fifth in Osseo.
The DC teams played in an 18-hole scramble at C-FC on Monday and returned to conference action in Mondovi on Tuesday. This coming Monday, they’ll compete in Whitehall before heading to Wabasha next week Thursday.
DC at Arcadia
The Norse surged to a second-place finish while the Indees were fourth.
Matthew Poulos had the second-best score in the meet with a 44 while Keanu Estenson, Adam Kleinhans and Drake Jurowski all came in with 48s. Brekken Kulig scored a 53 and Cooper Brouillet shot a 71.
Whitehall’s score of 188 was 16 strokes behind C-FC, but well ahead of the rest of the field as Eleva-Strum scored 242; Independence, 280; Alma/Pepin, 286; Gilmanton, 323 and Augusta, 324.
Adian Gaier led the Indees witha. 58 while Mitchell Halverson shot a 61, Charlie Baize, 67; Ethan Bouzek, 94, Max Dejno, 113 and Michale Onstad, 116.
DC at Osseo
The Norse dropped back down to third as E-S and C-FC took the top two spots.
Whitehall’s score of 219 was behind E-S at 196 and C-FC’s 178. A/P was fourth with a 266 followed by Independence, 297; Augusta, 335 and Gilmanton, 366.
Estenson and Poulos both finished with 53s for the Norse while Jurowski shot a 55, Kleinhans, 58; Gaier, 59 and Kulig, 60.
Halverson led the Indees with a 60 followed by Gaier, 64; Baize, 82; Bouzek, 91 and Dejno, 98.
