Two Whitehall players ran for more than 100 yards as the team totaled 359 on the ground in its 51-8 win over Augusta on Friday.

The clock was running continuously before halftime as Whitehall took a 37-0 lead into the intermission. The Norse scored two more touchdowns in the second half to take a 51-0 lead before the Beavers got in the end zone with less than two minutes remaining.

The win put Whitehall at 3-5 overall and 2-4 in Dairyland Conference play. The team likely needs to upset Blair-Taylor on the road this week to be considered for a spot in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association playoffs. The Wildcats are 5-3 on the season and 3-3 in Dairyland Conference play, coming off a 30-20 win over Melrose-Mindoro.

The Beavers had no answer for Whitehall’s rushing attack as the Norse had several players finish with productive outings.

Topping the list was junior Bo Killian, who ran for 121 yards and three touchdowns on just seven attempts. Killian put Whitehall ahead with a 24-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Mason Bautch ran in the two-point conversion, making the score 8-0.

Killian scored again in the second, this time on a three-yard touchdown run. The two-point conversion was stopped short.

Frank Juresh got in on the action in the second, breaking free for a 65-yard touchdown run on an end around. Ryan Eaton ran in the two-point conversion to give Whitehall a 22-0 lead. Juresh gained 101 rushing yards on three carries.

The Norse scored two more touchdowns before the end of the half. The first came when Killian broke through a pile of Augusta defenders for a 42-yard touchdown run. Riley Herman ran in the two-point conversion, making the score 30-0.

The next score came when Travis Smith broke through and blocked an Augusta punt. The ball rolled into the end zone, where Herman jumped on it for the touchdown. Herman then kicked the extra point to put Whitehall ahead 37-0.

With mostly reserves in the game, Whitehall scored two more times in the second half.

Sophomore Evander Peterson found a hole for a touchdown before Herman’s point after made the score 44-0.

Freshman Rylan Foss added a five-yard touchdown and Herman’s point after made the score 51-0 in the fourth quarter.

The Beavers scored a touchdown and two-point conversion with about two minutes remaining.

In addition to his big game on the ground, Killian completed Whitehall’s only pass in the game, a 32-yard toss to Devin Hutsell.
