Norse win two in DC play, three at E-S tourney

The Whitehall volleyball team went from a game below .500 to two games above last week.
The Norse won two matches in Dairyland Conference play, beating Augusta last week Tuesday and Independence/Gilmanton on Thursday. Then they went 3-2 in a tournament hosted by Eleva-Strum on Saturday.
The wins put Whitehall at 8-6 overall and 3-1 in Dairyland Conference competition. They’re slated to host Melrose-Mindoro on Thursday.
Next week, Whitehall will head to Eleva-Strum on Tuesday and host Alma Center Lincoln on Thursday.

The Norse had 18 service aces and controlled play at the net in the win.
Brinna Goplin led the team with five aces while Harlow Foss had four and Kyla Lambeck, Hailey Przybilla and Avvia Herman all had three.
Olivia Killian led the team with 11 kills and was one of three players — along with Kelsie Klomsten and Trinity Aasen — to have two blocks. Aasen added seven kills, Aryana Ausderau had five; Przybilla and Klomsten, four; Foss, three; Herman and Clatt, two; Lambeck, Kylee Estenson and Goplin, one.
Przybilla led the team with 13 set assists and Lambeck added 11. Lambeck led the team with 13 digs.

Killian led the team at the net with eight kills and four blocks in the sweep of the Indees.
The scoring was spread out for the Norse as Clatt added seven kills; Foss, six; Ausderau, Aasen and Klomsten all had two and Vivian Kulig got one. Ausderau added two blocks, while Aasen, Clatt and Foss all had one. Przybilla and Lambeck both had 10 assists.
The Norse had five aces in the match with five different players — Herman, Goplin, Clatt, Foss and Estenson — all getting one.
Foss had a team-high 17 digs, Goplin added 13.
E-S tournament
The Norse went 3-2 in matches and 7-6 in sets at the Eleva-Strum tournament on Saturday.
Whitehall picked up wins over Lake Holcomb, Elmwood/Plum City and Eleva-Strum, while losing to Thorp and Osseo-Fairchild.
Killian had 13 kills to control play at the net as the Norse beat Lake Holcomb 2-1.
Foss added seven kills while Ausderau had five; Herman, four; Klomsten, three; Aasen, two and Clatt and Lambeck both had one.
Foss led the team with four aces, while Killian, Przybylla and Herman all had one. Lambeck had 14 assists and Przybilla had 11. Lambeck also led the team in digs with 10.
The Norse had nine aces in a 2-0 win over Elmwood/Plum City. Lambeck led the team with three while Foss and Goplin both had two and Herman and Killian had one.
Killian led the team at the net with 10 kills, Ausderau and Clatt both had two, Foss, Aasen and Przybilla had one. Lambeck had 10 assists and Goplin led the team with five digs.
The Norse had a difficult time getting its offense going in a 2-0 loss to Thorp. Whitehall lost the first set by 12 points and the second by two.
Killian was again the team’s leader at the net with eight kills and four blocks. Ausderau added four kills and two blocks while Clatt had one kill. Klomsten and Aasen both had blocks. Both Lambeck and Przybilla had six assists. Goplin led the team with eight digs.
Whitehall had three aces in the match with Herman, Goplin and Killian all getting one.
After losing the first set by six points, the Norse won the second by two and the third by four to beat a DC rival.
The scoring was balanced for Whitehall as Killian led the team with seven kills and two blocks. Foss added five kills, Ausderau had four, Aasen and Clatt both had two while Klomsten and Herman both had one kill. Klomsten also added a block.
Lambeck led the team with 10 assists and Przybilla finished with seven.
Whitehall had eight aces in the match, Lambeck had a team-high three, Foss and Goplin both had two and Przybilla finished with one. Both Goplin and Foss had seven digs.
The Norse opened with a 25-21 win against the Thunder, but O-F won the second set by 12 points and the third by four.
Killian led the team with seven kills, three aces and one block. Foss added four kills, Ausderau finished with three while Aasen, Clatt and Klomsten all had two. Klomsten and Aasen both had one block.
Przybylla led the team with nine assists — three more than Lambeck — and 13 digs.
