Pehler third, Bremer 12th at indoor state track meet

Arcadia junior Casidi Pehler secured a third place finish at the Wisconsin state indoor track and field championships last weekend.

Pehler cleared the bar at 11 feet, nine inches on Saturday and was beaten only by West De Pere senior Eliza Aitken and Kimberly junior Campbell Roberts.

Aitken won the title with a leap of 12 feet, six inches at the event, held at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Pehler led the Arcadia girls at the event, while the Raider boys also had a top 15 finisher.

Junior Landan Bremer ran the open 400-meter in 53.17 seconds, good for a 12th place finish. Daniel Fasasi of Wisconsin Lutheran took the top time in 49.81.

Arcadia’s 1600-meter relay took 17th in the boys’ race, and Trey Lyga took 41st in the shot put competition.

Freshman Jaylie Dahl also competed for the Raiders, taking 40th in the 400 and also running in the open 60-meter dash. 

Jacy Boberg took 79th in the 400, and senior Tegan Michalak took 58th in the mile.

Whitehall also had several participants in the meet. Caydan Johnston took 39th in the triple jump and 149th in the 60-meter dash.

Alexis Correa finished 56th in the triple jump and 138th in the 60. Nora Bergerson was 140th in the 60. Mia Sygulla took 57th and Avvia Herman was 70th in the 60-meter hurdles. 

The girls team from Homestead took first place with 39 points, besting Arrowhead’s 34. Kimberly and Arrowhead tied for the top boys team, both with 33 points, while Bay Port scored 27.
