Post 354 wins four more

The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Post 354 American Legion baseball team won four games last week in one of their busiest weeks of the summer.
Post 354 played eight games in seven days last week and won four games along the way.
Post 354 opened the week by beating Onalaska and Bangor twice and lost to Viroqua and West Salem.
A Saturday loss to Holmen was the first game of a weekend holiday tournament, which also took place on Sunday. Results of the final tournament game were not available by press time.

Owen Eddy and Collin Handke each went 2-for-3 for the visitors, who out-hit Onalaska seven to four.
The second half of the back-to-back also was successful for Post 354.
Four scores in the top of the seventh equaled a win for Post 354.
The Red Hawks out-hit Onalaska eight to six and were led by a pair from Brenden Brady.
Collin Handke and Owen Eddy split pitching duties.
West Salem 13 G-E-T 8
A familiar opponent got the best of Post 354 last Wednesday.
West Salem outscored the Red Hawks 8-1 over the final four innings to seal the result.
Zach Grams led the hosts with two hits, including a triple. Eddy added a triple.
G-E-T 12 Bangor 5
G-E-T 5 Bangor 1
Both games against Bangor last Thursday ended the way Post 354 hoped.
Offense was no problem for Post 354, as the hosts brought home 17 runs in their doubleheader.
The Red Hawks scored 11 runs in two innings of game one and held Bangor to four hits.
Seven different players recorded a hit for Post 354, led by two from Gunnar Johnson and Nicholas Crum.
Game two was just as prosperous with less scoring, as G-E-T took a 5-0 lead to open the effort.
Team efforts continued for the hosts, as nine different players had hits.
Viroqua 9 G-E-T 6
Action continued for G-E-T against Viroqua on Friday.
A 3-for-3 performance from Nathan Holthaus was the bright spot for Post 354 on the road.
Viroqua scored four runs in the fourth inning and used that to hold back the Red Hawks.
Holthaus and Eddy split time on the mound, allowing nine hits and four earned runs while tossing eight strikeouts.
Holmen 9 G-E-T 3
Post 284 also used an explosive fourth inning to take down the Red Hawks in game one of their weekend tournament.
A 1-1 tie game turned into a 7-1 advantage with a six-run explosion from Holmen.
The Red Hawks were restricted to four hits in the effort and got a combo pitching effort from Warren Stoner and Noah Oines.
