Quick starts help Wildcats win both games last week
The Blair-Taylor High School girls basketball team started about as strong as a team could hope in both of its wins last week.
The Wildcats (12-1 overall, 6-0 Dairyland Conference) opened the week with a big win over Gilmanton on Tuesday, allowing just 21 points before making quick work of Brookwood on Saturday in a 68-10 win.
Blair-Taylor hosted New Lisbon on Monday and Alma/Pepin on Tuesday. They are set to play their third game of the week on Friday, hosting Eleva-Strum.

A 40-point first half ended any hopes for the host Panthers, as Blair-Taylor used an aggressive defense to force turnovers and create easy baskets in a Dairyland Conference battle last Tuesday.
The Wildcats tightened up on defense in the second half, too, allowing just six points after halftime.
Blair-Taylor junior Lindsay Steien scored 18 points to pace all players. Junior Abby Thompson (12) and senior Chloe Wagner (10) both finished in double digits as well.

The Wildcats allowed just six points to the host Falcons in the first half and Steien scored 27 points to lead Blair-Taylor to their 12th win of the season on Saturday. Steien shot 12-for-16 from the field.
Blair-Taylor got 10 points from Kierstyn Kindschy, and Thompson had a busy game with six points, nine assists and eight steals.
The Wildcats shot 44 percent from the field and dominated the glass with 53 rebounds. The rebounding advantage was a team effort has nobody had more than eight — which is what both Chloe Wagner and Samantha Kidd managed.
