A runner from Blair-Taylor took the top spot in the boys race and the Independence/Gilmanton girls team had four runners crack the top 10.
Alex Sygula finished first, about 13 seconds ahead of Caleb Arneson of Melrose-Mindoro, in the boys race. B-T didn’t have enough runners to qualify for a team score as Landen Kidd finished 19th, Caiden Lien, 28th, and Wyatt Schrock was 48th.
The I/G girls barely had enough runners for a team and tied for second, but dropped to third after the tiebreaker. With four runners in the top 10, the Indees once again showed their strength up front as Allie Sylla finished third, Taylor Sylla was sixth, Anna Kent seventh, and Sophia Kampa ninth out of 48 runners.
The only other teams to have more than one runner in the top 10 were meet champion Cochrane-Fountain City and second-place Viroqua. The Pirates had the top two runners in Addy Duellman and Paxtyn Duellman, as they scored 36 points. Both Viroqua and I/G finished with 50.
I/G’s fifth runner was Lia Sandoval Reyes, who was 44th.
Lexi Kirth finished 18th for Whitehall followed by Hailey Koch in 39th and Natalie Herber in 45th. Kelsey Lien took 20th for B-T, two spots better than Jadrean Borreson, while Ali Jorgenson finished 37th.
The I/G boys team also had a runner finish near the top as Theo Gutendorf finished third. Jayden Harz was 26th, Owen Gierok, 33rd and Maddox Pronschinske, 44th for the Indees.
Whitehall finished fifth in the team standings, led by Ashton Hanson, who was 20th overall. Warren Stenulson took second on the team and 41st overall while Finn Anderson was 43rd; Gage Garbers, 46th; Oliver Hernandez, 47th; Cayden Faldet-Platteter, 51st and Frank Juresh, 52nd.
