Raiders stack together wins to open 2023 volleyball season

After finishing the 2022 season with six total wins, the Arcadia High School volleyball team has its sights set on new heights this fall.
The team started on the right track last week, collecting four of a possible six wins at a tournament in Onalaska.
Arcadia won just one of its five matches at the same tournament in 2022, but this year’s team found itself off to a good start in the two-day tournament last Wednesday and Thursday — after dropping its opening match to Sparta 2-0, the Raiders rattled off consecutive wins over Ladysmith (2-0) and Cumberland (2-1) to close day one.
Arcadia dropped Thursday’s opener 2-1 at the hands of Fall Creek but closed tournament play with a pair of close wins, the first a 2-1 victory over Green Bay Preble and the second a 2-1 edging of Northwestern.
Individual stats from the matches were not available to the Times.
The Raiders will hope to continue collecting wins this week as they visited Onalaska Luther on Tuesday for their Coulee Conference opener.
They host their first home match of the season against West Salem — a team that finished second in the Coulee and was one win away from the state tournament a year ago — on Thursday.
