Raiders wrap up season at sectional

After capturing both conference and regional titles, the Arcadia girls golf team ended its 2026 season at their sectional meet, unable to advance as a group or send any individuals to the state tournament.

The Raiders finished sixth overall out of the nine teams competing at last Monday’s Division Two sectional meet held at Prairie du Chien Country Club. Arcadia compiled a team score of 443, well back of the two team state qualifiers to come out of Prairie du Chien: champion Edgerton with a score of 341 and runner-up Madison Edgewood with a 358.

The remainder of the team standings had Beloit Turner (404) in third, Parkview (412) in fourth, Wisconsin Dells (418) in fifth, Arcadia (443), Portage (445) in seventh, Adams-Friendship (457) in eighth and Aquinas (459) in ninth.

Parkview freshman phenom Taytum Oswald fired a one-over 73 to finish as the top medalist for the day, nine strokes ahead of Edgewood junior Mya Bindl (82) in second. Oswald, Portage junior Berkley Weber (81) and Lancaster senior Margot Dhyanchand (86) were the three individual state qualifiers to move on from that sectional.

An accomplished group of Raider seniors took the course one last time representing Arcadia. As they did so often throughout the season, Kalyce Sobotta and Amaya Schlesser led the way for the team by shooting a 106 and 107, respectively. Other scores for Arcadia were Riley Walters with a 113, Chloe Schlosstein with a 117 and Sacia Boland with a 120.

The Raiders’ last trip to state as a team remains 2018, when they set a new program best with a fourth-place finish among the D2 field.
